This human rights event developed out of a meeting in Wellington between Bettina Hausmann of UNA San Diego and Joy Dunsheath.

The United Nations Association of New Zealand has held Regional Secondary School Speech Awards for over thirty years and the National finals are held in conjunction with our Annual Conference in May. This year the National finals will be held in Wellington on Friday 21 June.
