UNA NZ 2020 Secondary School Speech Award opens registrations
29 January 2020
The United Nations Association of New Zealand has held regional secondary school speech awards for over 30 years. This year the National finals will be held in Wellington on Friday 8 May.
The regional finals will be announced soon and are likely to take place in late March/early April and be completed by 9 April.
Certificates are awarded to all who participate. The regional winner will then compete in Wellington on Friday 8 May. Travel expenses to Wellington from the regions will be met. Additional guest such as parents must be self-funded.
Students must speak for a minimum of 6 minutes and no longer than 8 minutes and must make a particular reference to the aims, work and aspirations of the United Nations. I suggest that the UN Website www.un.org and UNA NZ website www.unanz.org.nz be explored. Students are encouraged to do their own research, though, and add their own perspective.
We invite your school to register contestant/s online via
