Summit of the Future Public Consultation

The United Nations Summit of the Future is a high-level event taking place in New York on 20 and 21 September 2024. The Summit, hosted by His Excellency Mr António Guterres, will bring world leaders together to consider a wide-ranging set of ideas for global cooperation – changing how we work together at the global level so that we safeguard our future for present and future generations.
Effective global cooperation is increasingly critical to our survival but difficult to achieve in an atmosphere of mistrust, using outdated structures that no longer reflect today’s political and economic realities.

Your response will be collated and form part of a submission provided to the New Zealand Government representative attending the Summit, as well as the Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
At the invitation of Member States, the Secretary-General is now issuing a series of Policy Briefs to provide more detail on certain proposals contained in Our Common Agenda and to support them in their deliberations as they prepare for the Summit of the Future. Read more
