Success for New Zealand resolutions at WFUNA Assembly

The 43rd World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) Plenary Assembly took place in Tbilisi, Georgia from 7 to 10 November 2023. Hosted by UNA Georgia, this dynamic conference hosted representatives from UNA's around the world.

Joy Dunsheath, UNA NZ National Council Member and Vice-Chair of the WFUNA Executive Committee, and Alyn Ware, UNA NZ Special Officer for International Peace and Security, attended the Assembly in Tbilisi and represented UNA NZ.

Ms Dunsheath has represented New Zealand for a number of years at WFUNA, having been first elected to its Executive Committee in 2018 in the Dominican Republic.

UNA NZ was successful in securing adoption by the Congress of two resolutions submitted by UNA NZ, with some small amendments that were negotiated in order to achieve consensus.
